Rise and Not a shining morning

Would you believe me if I say I woke up to this case?

19-Yr-Old MP Tribal Girl Thrashed by Kin, Hung from Tree; 4 Held

As usual, after waking up, I scrolled through Twitter, to find the latest news. Writer @Eepaa tweeted how men were afraid of women because they were physically different and strong than men to collect food for survival. Then men dominated women for survival. I am not writing of feminism; as a lady; am disheartened to hear the reality of certain men who still couldn't understand or were adamantly unwilling to understand the ultimate truth.

Coming to this case, according to this article, it was a married teen who ran away from her in-laws for no reason mentioned in the article. I understood that it was not the first time, she has done this. The third time she ran away from her in-laws to her parent's house, the father got infuriated and decided to take control (dragged by her hair, (Visuals of Panjali being dragged by Dhuchathanan in my mind now), beaten up with wooden sticks, tied up and hung from a tree; Godwillingly not her neck).

So as decided to identify; the sections allocated in the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Penal Code (PC) in this matter. After all, both statues are brothers of the same mother. I will first list down IPC followed by PC, as the jurisdiction comes under IPC.
  1. s. 294 (Obscene acts and songs)
  2. s. 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt)
  3. s. 355 (Whoever assaults or uses criminal force to any person intending thereby to dishonor that person)
  4. s.506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation)
  5. s.34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention)
In pari materia to Penal Code (Act 574)
  1. s. 294. Obscene songs
  2. s. 321. Voluntarily causing hurt
  3. s. 323. Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt
  4. s. 355. Assault or criminal force with intent to dishonour a person, otherwise than on grave provocation
  5. s. 506. Punishment for criminal intimidation
  6. s. 34. Each of several persons liable for an act done by all, in like manner as if done by him alone
The article says that the First Information Report, FIR has been placed. I will share the outcome if there is one.
